Terms of use
Last updated October 15, 2026
igotcitizenship is independent study material. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or the Government of Canada.
This page is available in English only for now.
These terms are an agreement between you and [[legal name of the business]] ("we", "us"), who run igotcitizenship. By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
They should be read with our Privacy policy and our Refund policy.
We are not the government
igotcitizenship is independent study material. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or the Government of Canada, and it is not the official test.
The official study guide, Discover Canada, and IRCC's own pages are the final authority on what the test covers and how it works. Our questions are original, written from public facts, and are practice only. The real test may differ from them. We link to the official source throughout so you can check anything.
No guarantee that you will pass
Practising helps, but we cannot promise that you will pass the citizenship test or that your application will succeed. Whether you pass, and what happens to your application, is decided by IRCC.
We work to keep every question and study note correct and current, and we say openly how much of it has been reviewed by a person (see the Trust page). Facts can change, and mistakes happen. Please check anything important against the official sources before relying on it. Nothing here is legal or immigration advice.
Who can use the service
You must be at least 18, or use the service with a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms for you. The service is not for children under 13.
You need to give true information when you create an account, keep your password secret, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens on it.
Free access and paid packages
You can practise without paying. Some features are limited unless you create a free account or buy a package. The current limits and what each plan includes are shown in the app and may change.
- Paid packages start at CA$19.99 (Canadian dollars), each paid once, and give access for up to 3 months from the day you buy, as each package states when you choose it. No package renews by itself and we never charge you again unless you buy again.
- Each package gives a set number of full timed exams (the largest gives unlimited exams), with everything else a package unlocks, for a set number of months. What each one includes and costs is shown when you choose. When a package's exams are used up, the rest of what it unlocks stays open until its months end, and you can add another package for more exams.
- Buying a package while you still have one adds the new period to the end of the current one.
- Question packs are optional add-ons for package holders. A pack stops working when your package ends.
- The price at checkout includes any taxes that apply. Prices and offers may change, but never for a purchase you have already made.
- Payments are taken by Stripe. You must confirm your email address before you can pay.
Refunds are covered by our Refund policy.
How you may use it
You may use the service for your own personal, non-commercial study. You may not:
- copy, scrape, resell, republish or share our questions, study notes, cheat sheet or other content, except for brief quotation with credit;
- share your account or package with other people, or let others sign in as you;
- use our content to train or test artificial-intelligence models;
- try to get around the limits on free access, or to see content you have not unlocked;
- attack, overload or probe the service, or interfere with other learners;
- use the service to cheat in or impersonate someone at the real citizenship test, or in any unlawful way.
The printable cheat sheet is marked with your email address because it is yours alone.
Who owns what
[[legal name of the business]] owns the igotcitizenship questions, study notes, design, software and brand. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use them as these terms allow. Discover Canada and other government materials belong to the Government of Canada, and we link to them rather than copying them.
Your results and progress are yours. You allow us to use them, together with other learners' in anonymous form, to run the service and improve the questions.
Availability and changes to the service
We try to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features and content, for example when the official test changes. If we remove something you paid for, we will tell you and refund any part of your package you cannot use.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time on the Account page. Deleting it ends your package without a refund unless the Refund policy gives you one.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where we can. If we close it and you did not break the terms, we will refund the unused part of your package.
Our responsibility to you
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including a failed test, a delayed or refused application, or lost time, fees or opportunities.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited, or our responsibility for anything the law does not allow us to exclude.
Links to other sites
We link to government and other sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Problems and disputes
If something is wrong, please write to info@igotcitizenship.ca first. We will try to fix it quickly. If you are unhappy with a charge, please contact us before asking your bank to reverse it: most problems are solved faster that way.
These terms are governed by the laws of [[province]] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of [[province]], unless the law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, such as the price of something you have not yet bought or what a plan includes, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Using the service after the change means you accept it.
If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
